June 4, 2003
In attendance:
Maryann & Laura
We looked through the storyboards and discussed the structure of the
tool. We outlined the materials to be included and thought about
terminology we would use in the tool to define components. Carlos
Santamarina came to the last part of the meeting to offer faculty input.
Our next meeting will be on MONDAY JUNE 9 at 9:30 am in Skiles 343. We
will look through more storyboards and consider the follow up analysis
portion of the committee members' section.
Lissa fixed the existing ptcd swiki to be an open swiki, no password
needed.I'm pasting (below this note) her message indicating the address
and the individual passwords for the other ptcd swiki, which is closed
to all except those in the design group. We will soon begin posting
committee reports and other resources on the closed swiki. Questions
raised in this discussion:
- What is the intention of the arrows on the conversation screen?
(Can you backtrack to a previous decision point & change your
mind?) Or just to read the transcript? Or change the characterization
(bias or procedural) of any statement?)
- At the end of the analysis can the user "go back" to any
decision point and change their mind? Or do they have to start over at
the beginning of the meeting?
- Does the user see a "result" such as a recommendation for
tenure letter after completing the conversation or after the analysis?
(Does the user see such a letter at all?)
Other issues to discuss (based on e-mailed screen shots):
- Attached are five screen shots for revisions on the Follow-up
Analysis section of the tool. Incorporated are changes that were
discussed at last meeting.
- The first three screen shots show some of the variations of
the right-hand column based on what the user has selected in the
left-hand column.
- The last two screen shots show how the left-hand side changes
when user selects one of the three areas on the right-hand side for
more detail (i.e. BIAS ISSUE, PROCEDURAL ISSUE, DECISION POINT).
Points for discussion:
- Use floating window instead of swapping left-hand column to show detail.
- Resolution on buttons - how they are used and how they look
based on whether the user is in the meeting, or in follow-up analysis.
- How to treat DECISION POINTS.
- If/how to treat comments.
- How to treat e-mail (all/none option, or user can be selective about what they want to send?)
- More refined user analysis about how they can re-enter the meeting.
- More refined user analysis about how they will end the session.
- Optional "Refinement" versions.
- Sidebar elements.
